Heart of Sunshine
Heart of Sunshine
What luck to find a wonderful Sunstone with pink copper schiller that was in the shape of a heart. A bit of hand carving brought the raw stone to a shimmering polished symbol of love. Striations of the copper flash with pink while the clear gem holds the sunshine. A warm, white pearl gracefully continues the glow with Fine Silver balls balancing this dainty, romantic composition.
This Pink Schiller Sunstone, from Spectrum Mine in Oregon, is left open backed in its Fine Silver setting to let the light shine through. The 2.5 carat Sunstone was hand carved by Karen Britt, you can see a similar stone polished on our VIDEO page.
The Cultured Pearl is old stock (between 25-30 years old) and is a warm, white tint. The stone settings and body are fine silver, and bail loops are Sterling Silver as well as the hook and loop closure. The pendant is hung from an 18 inch, black, 1.5mm Greek Leather cord. This piece was fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
