Pink Pearls and Chalcedony
Pink Pearls and Chalcedony
Delicate and strong like rose petals and the colors of dawn. In the Virgin Valley, we found the desirable Pink Chalcedony as well as our opals. These warm, gorgeous hues blend through the stone in an ombre’ fashion from melon to ballet slipper pink. The radiant pinks of the Button Pearls are a wonderfully matching and have their own unique color-play. Set in Fine Silver with carved flow through the body of the earrings, these sweet dangles will dress up any casual or formal outfit with contemporary flair.
This is the Pink Chalcedony we found on our latest trip to the Virgin Valley in Nevada. The 11.5mm x 8.5mm cabochons are hand polished by Karen Britt. The backs of the cabochons are left open to let the light shine through the stones, which is incredible if the earrings are backlit, they glow! The pearls are old stock purchased between 25-30 years ago. These Pink Button, cultured pearls are approximately 6 mm set in Fine Silver. The earring body is entirely Fine Silver stacked and carved to create the undulating flow of texture. These earrings were made to be comfortable with Sterling Silver earring wires and only weigh 3 grams a piece. The earrings are fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
