These Pink tinted Oregon Sunstones are the perfect expression of dainty but strong. As these dangle from your ears, they pick up the sunlight with flashes of pink copper schiller. Tiny fractures born from their incredible birth also reflect the sunshine. Sunstones are found within Basalt lava that cooled at a different rate thus imposing incredible pressure on the stones. These gently faceted gems glow triumphantly in Fine Silver, hand carved settings.
These Pink tinted Sunstones are in the latest ‘Gazing into the Sunstones’ Video and are from our last trip to the Spectrum Sunstone Mine. Each rose cut (flat backed), softly faceted gem is clear and also shows pink schiller inclusions in the right light. The backs of the 1 carat gems are left open to let the light shine through.
The earring body is entirely Fine Silver stacked and carved to create the undulating flow of texture. These earrings are just under 1 inch long in the body and hang about 1.5 inches with the Sterling Silver earring wires. The earrings are fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
