Sunshine Agate Dangles
Sunshine Agate Dangles
Need a little pick-me-up? How about some fun, asymmetrical dangles shining smiles from your ears?! These Sunshine Plume Agates are from the same ‘mother stone’ as the recent ‘Sunshine and Pearl’ necklace. They also cleaved with great shapes that became almost a yin-yang play of form for carving. Paired with an amber Marcasite Plume Agate on the left and Banded Thunder Egg Agate on the right, these are a warm, one-of-a-kind win for any outfit.
We found this Sunshine Plume Agate in Eastern Oregon. They were hand carved and fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each earring is around 2 grams which is light for stone dangles. With the carving, the shapes are completely unique and there’s control over the weight without compromising the character and quality of the gem. The Marcasite Plume Agate and Thunder Egg are both 4mm stones and both hand polished by Karen Britt.
The earring body is about 1 inch long (with the wire 1.6) entirely Fine Silver and the earring wires are Sterling. The backs are left open so the sun can shine through the stones and show off their colors. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
