The Obsidian is from Central Oregon and contains Magnetite in such a way that bands of sheen are created. The gemstones are carved by Karen Britt and are about 18cm x 13cm. They are set in Fine Silver with Sterling Silver French earring wires. Each earring is roughly 2.3 grams while a penny is 2.5 grams for comparison, that’s pretty light for earrings that dangle with this kind of drama! The backs of the settings are left open so the light can shine through the Obsidian showing off the banding.

These earrings were fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.

We use priority USPS and they’ve been speedy in delivery time ahead of the holidays (usually 1 to 4 business days travel time depending on where you are).
