They were then combined with White Topaz set in Fine Silver for the extra sparkle, like the sun on the water. These fossil ammonites were sand cast in the Ozone Studios from Sterling and Fine silver reclaimed in the studio. If you’d like to see a BLOG on the making of these earrings, click the link. The original Fossil was from the collection of Theo Kellison and shared with us specifically to do the sand casts. The ammonites measure roughly 7mm a piece and are the complete casting of the ammonite (not just the front). The 3mm White Topaz (heat treated) are set in Fine Silver and are topped with silver bails and Sterling Silver Earring wires. The Earring body is about 27mm long (or about an inch) and is roughly 44mm long from the earring hole (or about 1.7 inches long) with the earring wires length added. Each earring weighs about 2.3 grams, while a penny is 2.5 grams for reference. These earrings are comfortable and fun, will go with everything from a museum reception to casually hanging out at the beach.
