Moss Agate Leaf with Pearl and Opal
Moss Agate Leaf with Pearl and Opal
This sea-foam green Moss Agate was perfect for a leaf carving! It’s got the Spring feels with fresh green dendrites ‘growing’ through clear agate. A similarly colored Common Opal from a Thunder Egg graces the right side of the leaf while a white cultured pearl hangs like a dew drop on the left. The stones are set in Fine Silver while the prongs and body of the piece are Sterling.
The Moss Agate, from Central Oregon, was hand carved and polished (by Karen Britt) into this Spring Leaf design. The clear Agate suspends the detailed definition of the dendrites. The Common Opal Thunder Egg was found at Richardson’s Ranch. The Cultured Pearl is from old stock collected about 3 decades ago from the Tucson Gem Show.
The stone bezel settings are fine silver, the prongs, body, and bail loops are Sterling Silver as well as the hook and loop closure. The pendant is hung from an 18 inch, black, 3.5mm Greek Leather cord. This piece was fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
