Rhyolite Lava Flow
Rhyolite Lava Flow
The stones choose their shapes. This Rhyolite from South East Oregon has broken in teardrop shapes several times now. What an interesting coincidence mimicking their lava flow birth! Deep shades of eggplant and maroon are contrasted by dancing splashes of mauve, white, and light green. Another ‘droplet’ in the flow is a sweet green 4mm Rhyolite cab. The lava flow on the left is Fine Silver and the flow on the right is Copper with a Fine Silver sphere at the bottom. The composition creates a circuit of the gemstone lava flow dropping from the volcano, coming out from the earth, and finding its way around to you.
This pendant comes with a 1.2 mm Greek Leather cord, measuring about 18 inches, and is held to your neck with a hand made Sterling Silver hook and loop clasp. All of the stones were sourced in Oregon, hand polished, and the setting fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
