Did you know that sometimes when you break open a Thunder Egg that Moss Agate can be inside? The excitement of this stone is that the deep green ‘mossing’ is surrounded by white Common Opal and suspended in clear Agate. Fine Silver is sculpted around the setting and the back is left open so that this special stone can be admired illuminated from behind in addition to being admired on your sized 7 1/4 finger.
The Moss Agate, from a Thunder Egg, was mined at Richardson’s Ranch in Oregon by Karen and Steve Britt. The Fine Silver is stacked and sculpted to create the topography around the stone. Sterling Silver, 18 gauge, is used for the one-split-to-two, size 7 1/4 ring band for durability and comfort. The setting is fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
