Carnelian and Thunder
Like a deep red sun, a glowing Carnelian hovers over an abstract landscape. Neutral tones, both banded and ‘laced’ appear in the agate and common opal Thunder Egg. Surrounding the gemstones, stacked and carved Fine Silver finishes the rugged terrain from which both stones originated. A Sterling Silver two-into-one band keeps this aesthetic terrestrial vision on your size 7 1/4 finger.
The Carnelian is from the Virgin Valley in Nevada and is 5mm. The Thunder Egg, was mined at Richardson’s Ranch in Oregon by Karen and Steve Britt and is 12mm. The Fine Silver is stacked and sculpted to create the topography around the stone. Sterling Silver, 18 gauge, is used for the one-split-to-two, size 7 1/4 ring band for durability and comfort. The setting is fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
