A fantastically clear, generous Oregon Sunstone hovers over the Australian Boulder Opal that reflects the color of the warm seas. A Sterling Silver halo holds the sun to the sea and fine silver cradles the opal in this solar and aquatic composition.
This solar scenario in stone is a favorite of themes. The warmth of the 7.5mm brilliant round faceted Oregon Sunstone, mined and cut by Karen Britt, sets into the 9mm x 6mm opal sea. The entire scene measures around 31mm (roughly 1.2 inches) long and about 15mm across (or about .6 in.). This classic ensemble hangs from a hammered sterling silver, hand crafted necklace with a hook and loop closure (please note; a few of the pictures contain a box chain, which is not the chain it comes with, just a demonstration). Both the chain and the pendant are patinaed to bring out the contrasts in the textures and add drama and depth to this rustic design. The Oregon Sunstone not only boasts strands of schiller and marvelous clarity, but is also left open backed to let the optimal amount of light into the stone.
