Sunshine and opals stacked high for an eyeful of flash for your fingers. A glimmering Oregon Champagne Sunstone is flanked by a splashy, rainbow packed Australian Boulder Opal and white opal. A sterling silver ‘two to one’ band wraps these gems onto your size 7 finger and can be worn with either opal on top.
The blazing 5mm Oregon Champagne Sunstone was mined and faceted by Karen Britt in a standard round brilliant cut. The 7mm Australian Boulder Opal was acquired decades ago directly from a beloved Australian opal dealer at the Tucson Gem Show. It flaunts a lovely blue body color and every hue of the rainbow in the flash including the coveted red. The White Opal is from a parcel that was shared with Karen, that she cut and polished. This 5 x 7mm gem has crisp white body color, dainty flecks of flash, and a natural healed fracture at its tip. All of the stones are natural and unaltered other than cutting and polishing. The ring is 100% hand fabricated with the stones set into fine silver bezels while the band is sterling silver for strength and durability. The stones were ethically sourced and the metals are as well and reclaimed whenever possible. The bezel for the white opal has a 1 mm ‘pock’ at the base that is backed by silver before the white opal was set. For this reason, the ring is discounted though it is purely superficial and has no effect on the structure of this lovely setting.
