A wonderfully large, faceted new moon Obsidian beams above a Champagne Oregon Sunstone setting in a silver canyon. Imagine the scene of sunset, deep in a gorge, watching the sun dive through the slot canyon followed by the dark orb of the moon. The scene plays out in patinaed, textured sterling silver with fine silver holding the sunstone. This splendor is placed onto your neck with a hand crafted, hammered bar and link, sterling silver chain.
This dramatic composition features the depth of an 8mm chocolatey faceted Obsidian and an incredible 6mm Sunstone. The faceted, round brilliant obsidian is cradled with sterling silver prongs and left open backed to let the light reflect through the stone. The Oregon Sunstone is also cut in the round brilliant to show off it’s fantastic clarity and warmth.
The body of the piece is sterling silver that has been textured and patinaed for contrast. The halo around the Obsidian is cut in ‘rays’ around the the circle and the canyon is textured like the earth. The pendant is about 36mm, or just shy of 1.5 inches and swings by a barrel-style fine silver bail. The sterling silver chain measures 19.5 inches and is adjustable to 19, 17-16.5 inches by way of selecting the link for the hook and loop closure. This allows the necklace to convert from a longer ‘over the sweater’ style to shorter framed by an open blouse style. The chain links and bars are hammered and patinaed to continue the rustic and forged look of the piece.
