The Smokey Blue Agates are from Graveyard Point, Oregon, and were mined by Karen and Steve. The lapidary and fabrication of the original design was all done by Karen as well. The Agates are about 11mm x 11mm and are set in fine silver. The backs of the earrings are left open backed so the light may shine through the stones for great effect when you have your hair up. The body of the earrings is copper and measures about 29mm or roughly 1 1/4”. The earring wires are Sterling Silver and add another about 1/2 inch for an over all length of 1 3/4 inches from the earring hole. The earrings weigh in at about 2.5 grams each, which is about the weight of a penny, so very comfortable to wear. These gorgeous dangles would be a fantastic addition to any outfit with denim but are also fantastically versatile with the mixed metals and varied color in the stones.
