‘Fresh Rockfish’ fresh off the printing block! A Canary Rockfish kept photo-bombing my shots as I was collecting source pictures of fish at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. This beloved fish has been rendered several times in a few oil paintings and this cherry wood print block that was hand carved to immortalize it. Each print is hand inked (like a painting) to create a unique blend of colors for every individual print. This little guy is one of a kind.
Artist’s license has been taken with the color here, but there are a few varieties of green rockfish in the Pacific, so it’s not far from reality. This print measures approx 5”x 9.5” in the paper and the image is approx 3.5” x 8”. It was printing by hand with 100% cotton rag paper and relief inks. Every print comes with an info sheet about the subject and print. This print comes to you ready to mat and frame in a way of your choosing.
