Koi in the Woods (RYHI 2)
Koi in the Woods (RYHI 2)
A Koi swims through the ripples of a small pond, or are those the rings of a tree? Yes, both. This Koi was carved from the cross cut of a local Oregon Coast tree. The rings are visible by way of the preparation of the wood and the Koi carefully realized from natural design cues from the wood’s organic and unique character. This print was hand inked to contrast the fish from the depths of the pond. In that regard, every print pulled is a unique, one of a kind, fine art print.
Koi in the Woods is printed on 100% Cotton Rag paper; graphic measuring 5” x 5.5”, paper measuring 7”x 7.5”, using Daniel Smith relief inks. The printing block was prepared and cut by Karen Britt from Oregon Coast wood. Each print is hand inked and printed by hand pressing (without the aid of a printing press). The edition of this print is unnumbered, but due to the nature of the wood and printing process, there is a finite number of prints that may be pulled from this block before the fidelity is such that the edition must be closed. The maximum number for this to take place is well under 100 prints. Your print arrives unframed and ready for you to personalize with your own mounting, matting, or framing vision. The last picture shown here is a possible mounting style, we use at Ozone Fine Art, to give you creative ideas on how the print may be presented. Traditional framing techniques always look great too. If you wish to purchase a mounted print, check the inventory or Contact Us for pricing on having this very print mounted in that style.
