Wine, Angels, and Moss Agate Cairn
Wine, Angels, and Moss Agate Cairn
There are so many colors in this Moss Agate, I wouldn’t know what to call it! Along with the usual gorgeous greens, there are reds, peach and pinks, wine, white, yellows and more in an incredible earthy dance. On top of the stack, a wine colored Thunder Egg Agate and on the bottom, an Angel Wing Plume Agate.
The color differences you can see in the stones are the changes from inside to outside shots with the camera. The first picture with the white background was taken inside with contrived light. The second two are taken outside with diffuse (cloudy day) light. The stones really have dynamic hue changes given the kind of light they are getting as they would if you were wearing them indoors and outdoors.
This ensemble hangs from your neck by a 1.2mm Greek Leather Cord and Sterling Silver hook and loop clasp. The Fine Silver Setting for the Moss Agate is left open backed so you can see through the gem. These stones were sourced in Oregon, hand polished, and the setting fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
