Sunstone and Pearls Splash
Sunstone and Pearls Splash
Pearls just want to have fun, right? With a hand carved Champagne Oregon Sunstone radiating in spashy waves, this necklace exudes both elegant and good, beach-side vibes. The sculpted Sunstone, intended on abstract, has the feel of a crescent amid waves (a recurrent theme!). The dark ‘Peacock’ Pearl and the lower blue-white Pearl artistically convey the contrasting day and night-time seas. The whole flow is held by Fine Silver bezels and Sterling Silver prongs.
The Sunstone is a hand carved Champagne 9 carat, approx. 20mm x 1 5mm gem from our latest trip to the Spectrum Sunstone Mine . The dark ‘Peacock’ pearl is roughly 4mm and the blue-white Pearl 5mm. The prong setting is Sterling Silver, Fine Silver on the Pearls, and Sterling hook and loop closure on the 3.5mm, approx. 18” Greek leather cord. The pendant hangs from bail to bottom approx. 42mm or 1.6 inches. These stones were sourced in Oregon (except the Pearls, that are old stock from about 25-30 years ago), hand polished, and the setting fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
