Sunstone and Moss Agate
Sunstone and Moss Agate
Out of an Oregon Thunder Egg from the Priday Bed, a Common Opal Moss Agate burst forth with delicate details and lovely hues. Polished with facets, yet left fairly deep, the graceful undulations of the green minerals flow through the white and tinted blue Common Opal and clear agate. Poised above, a 5mm Sunstone cabochon relays light like the carved fine silver hills just below it.
The Moss Agate is left open backed in its Fine Silver and setting to let the light shine through. The base is hand carved Fine Silver and the bail, loop and closure findings are Sterling Silver. This is all hung on an 18” fair trade, 3.5mm Greek Leather Black Cord, so its ready to wear or give, though you are welcome to pair this with your favorite chain as well. These stones were sourced in Oregon, hand polished, and the setting fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
