Red Moss Agate, Druzy Crystals, and Crystal Opal Cairn
With this rock stack, beauty teeters in the balance. A Red Moss Agate from Central Oregon sits at the top with tendrils of Crimson Red tracing through blue-green Agate. A glimmering Quartz Druzy Crystal encrusted Agate Thunder Egg sits underneath with some of the most brilliant natural faceting I have ever seen. The bottom stone is an Australian Crystal Opal that I bought directly from the miner 25-30 years ago and have hoarded ever since. These stones are punctuated by Fine and Sterling Silver settings hand carved for more faces and angles for flash.
The Moss Agate and Thunder Egg are left open backed in their Fine Silver setting to let the light shine through. The base and the bail loops are Sterling Silver as well as the hook and loop closure on the 3.5mm Greek leather cord (roughly 18”). These stones were sourced in Oregon, hand polished, and the setting fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
