Polyphonic Striations
Polyphonic Striations
Jewelry often feels poetic, as a good haiku composition, and sometimes musical as well. This piece contains not only an allegory for the layers of the land and banks of the streams but the sounds of the earth in concert. A Pink Common Opal from a Thunder Egg from Central Oregon starts the measure off with a high note as Fine and Sterling pebbles mark off rhythm. A Deep wine colored Marcasite Plume Agate floats as the central key while a striated Red/Blue Thunder Egg adds a touch of base to the phrase.
This symphony of stones his held by Fine Silver Settings while the bail and clasp are Sterling Silver. Hung from a 3.5 mm Greek Leather Cord, this is a Contemporary Statement Piece that is elegant wearable art. All of the stones were sourced in Oregon, hand polished, and the setting fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. The piece is backed by Copper and all metals used are either recycled or fair and humane trade varified.
