Opal, Plume, and Thunder Cairn
Opal, Plume, and Thunder Cairn
Some stones just beg to be together. These gems together tell the story of flights above and flows below in their stone stack called a Cairn. A maroon and blue tinted Thunder Egg Agate sports crazing of rainbow Quartz in its middle. Flying above, an Angel Wing Plume Agate shows what intensity and time in the volcanic cradle did for it with flurries of white soaring through clear agate. On top, an old stock Australian Bolder Opal flashes with all the pure hues the Earth can imagine. All three stones, set in Fine Silver and trimmed in Sterling Silver, born of volcanic activity displaying elements of its powerful nature.
This pendant comes with a 3.5 mm Greek Leather cord, measuring about 18 inches, and is held to your neck with a hand made Sterling Silver hook and loop clasp. All of the stones were sourced in Oregon (except for the Australian Boulder Opal), hand polished, and the setting fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Two of the stones of the trio are left backless to let the light shine through and bring you closer to the stones. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
