Marcasite Plume Agate Terrains
Marcasite Plume Agate Terrains
The joy of having not just one but two stones break in this intriguing shape can’t be beat with a jewelry hammer. These Marcasite Plume Agates are from the far East edge of Oregon and contain tiny flecks of Marcasite in crystal form that create the dark blue-gray color inclusions and a sweet surprise glimmer inside. They are marbled intermittently with some warm, honey agate so the hand carved Copper, Sterling, and Fine Silver setting mimics the hue variations.
The Marcasite Plume Agates were set ‘backless’ to let the light shine through. The earrings hang from your ears from Sterling Silver earring wires. These stones were sourced in Oregon, hand polished, and the setting fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
