With great glee, Karen and Steve Britt collected this Obsidian on their adventures through eastern Oregon. Karen faceted this perfectly clear, dark wine-brown-charcoal gem then concave carved the back to reflect the light. The setting is left open so you can enjoy this feature even more. The perfect pairing was this old stock Australian Boulder Opal purchased around 30 years ago at Tucson Gem Show. This 8mm little firecracker has lightning bolt flash going through and its highlight is the gorgeous red blaze. The bezels are Fine Silver and the body of the piece and bail are Sterling Silver. The overall length of the piece is 58mm or almost 2.5” making it a fantastic statement piece.

The pendant is hung on a Greek Leather 1.5mm cord that is approximately 18” with a sterling silver hook and loop clasp. As with all of the pendants on the website, each one could pair with any of the chains you have at home. We just like to send it off to you ready to wear and we like this presentation for wearing them also; it’s like the perfect black frame on a picture, goes with everything. Choosing the perfect chain for each individual is like attempting to choose the perfect haircut for them! You are welcome to hang this lovely pendant from any chain of your choice.

This piece was fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
