The fortification agate picks up both the warm tones of the textured and patinaed copper, but also swings into the bright white and cool shadows in the sparkling druzy pockets. This great bracelet started as 16 gauge copper sheet that was hammered and formed to take on its jewelry transformation. In the process of forming the cuff, the sheet was put through a rolling mill with hydrangea blossoms and leaves to achieve the embossed textures. Because of the hammering and milling, the copper varies in thickness, and is the perfect balance between comfort and sturdy wear-ability. Work hardening through hammering makes the cuff hold its form while remaining supple enough bend a bit to hug your wrist. This bracelet measures just shy of 6”, putting it in the realm of Medium size for bracelets. There is flexibility in the copper so that the size may be changed tighter of looser for comfort. The Graveyard Point Agate, from Eastern Oregon, was mined and polished by Karen and measures roughly 9mm x 7mm. It is set in Fine Silver that bring out the ‘cooler’ tones of the fortification lines and druzy pockets of the stone. This both contemporary and rustic cuff is ready to pair with your prettiest dress or blue jeans on a camping trip.
