Good Things Come in Great Packages
Packaging and presentation means so much to us these days. Let’s face it, the way something is marketed has a huge impact on how excited we are to purchase it and even causes us to make judgements on quality and the worthiness of it for our spending. Here at the Ozone, we’re all about attractive solutions as opposed to being part of a world wide mess.

The problem with the majority of packaging options is that they’re, ummm, landfill (for lack of a better term). Many gift boxes and wrappers come from far off places are driven by cheap consumer pressure to create product that pollutes and exploits. In addition, they’re often single use items that may include plastics or other materials that take a very long time (if ever) to biodegrade.

The last time we ran out of gift boxes, I just couldn’t bring myself to order more with good conscience. We figured we’d save two birds with one stone; stop purchasing one use items by making or reusing shipping supplies and creating great travel holders for your jewelry purchases and those you already have!

While out camping, I typically lose my earrings for a while and my necklace is swimming around with all the various contents of my purse (not good). The inspiration for this project was born when I learned to sew last summer and made little (and big) bags to tame the randomness of my adventure gear. It occurred to me, ‘why not send off the jewelry in reusable pouches that will keep and protect them while others are on their journeys or storing them at home’? This epiphany led to this enthusiastic announcement; your jewelry order comes to you with a hand made, beautiful holder or pouch that is, at the very least recyclable, marvelously useful, and that we all can feel great about.
Because we, here at the Ozone, would love to help save just that and the rest of this lovely planet, we purchase as many of our materials locally as we can. This includes our paper products for making cards and boxes, our all-cotton fabrics for the pouches, and many other media.
