Jeff Nichols

Jeff Nichols was the first Newport artist invited to join the Ozone. Through a mutual friend, Joe Santos, the Ozone met with Jeff who lived in walking distance of Agate Beach, Yaquina Head, and all the gorgeous sunsets and waves Jeff loves to paint. Many of Jeff's pieces wisk you away among the waves like 'Pipe Dreams', that could be anywhere in the world one may want to be. Other paintings, like Fogarty Beach are distinctly rendered and return you to a quiet, Zen like moment in a favorite haunt.

"I can remember when I was a young boy and staying with my Grandmother. She had a Diego Rivera print in her living room. Years later at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, I saw the original and it brought bacck a rush of fond memories. Art is powerful."

Jeff has done two summertime feature shows for the Ozone as well as being voted 'Viewer's Choice Best of Show' by gallery visitors. In our 2 Year Anniversary Show, Jeff participated in our first 'Paint -In' during the opening. Considering he used to host his own TV show about painting in the Bay Area a while back, he created a beautiful piece in just a few hours
