Glen Baily

Oregon Coast artist, Glen Baily, not only uses the wildlife of the Pacific Northwest as his inspiration, but also uses the Coast itself. Glen created his 'Wildlife Foundry' by using Oregon Coast Sand to cast his aluminum sculptures.

Glen first sculpts his form out of wood to create the sand casting. He then pours the aluminum into the void left by sculpture. After cooling, he polishes the pieces but unique 'pocking' and organic textures are created by the sand that make every piece a one-of-a-kind. To keep the whole presentation utterly local, he uses Oregon Walnut as the base for the piece and each one is hand signed.
